Glen Ray Goodman Prison Unit on Highway 190 East in Jasper

The number of both inmates and employees with active cases of Coronavirus increased on Wednesday at the Glen Goodman Prison Unit in Jasper. According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, there are now 199 inmates and 22 employees with the illness.

The facility still has the most active cases among inmates of all prison facilities across the state, however, following very closely behind is the Pack Unit near Navasota in Grimes County where the number of inmate cases grew to 198 on Wednesday.

In regard to employee cases, the hardest hit facility is just 65 miles to the south at the Stiles Unit in Jefferson County where 31 employees are currently affected. The second hardest hit facility in the state is just 50 miles to the northwest at the Duncan Unit in Diboll where 28 employees have active cases of Coronavirus.

25 miles to the west at the Lewis Unit at Woodville, there are still no active cases among the inmates or employees as of Wednesday.
