KJAS News has obtained an arrest report from the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Department in Pagosa Springs, Colorado in which Colmesneil Independent School District Superintendent Angela Brown Matterson was arrested there on Saturday, October 19th on charges of “Drove Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Drugs, or Both” and “Careless Driving”.
Meanwhile, KJAS News has learned that Matterson, age 50, has handed in a resignation from her job as superintendent, effective June of 2020.
The law enforcement report said that deputies were sent to a Sonic Drive-In when it was reported that Matterson had gotten a Jeep stuck on a curb.
The report said that at the scene Matterson denied drinking alcohol, but she later admitted that she had been drinking earlier. The report said that she was arrested after she failed field sobriety tests.
