The Jasper Independent School District Board of Trustees has approved a plan to hopefully make academic improvements at three schools.
During their regular monthly meeting on Monday, the board held a public forum in which information was produced that showed that various levels of academic improvement was needed at Parnell Elementary, Few Primary, and Jasper Junior High School. The board voted to approve implementation of a program known as “Effective Schools Framework”, which is hoped to increase academic performance.
In other action, the board voted to approve Chris Poole to remain a member of the Jasper County Appraisal District Board, representing Jasper ISD.
School Board members heard reports from school principals and other district officials, including JISD Director of Operations John Seybold who said that new fuel tanks have now been installed at the district’s bus barn. Seybold said that on Friday, for the first time in five years, Jasper ISD buses were able to be fueled up at the bus barn.
Old, deteriorating and leaking fuel tanks were recently removed from the bus barn property.
