Vernon Parish investigators say these images came from a security camera as the woman brought her raffle ticket scam into a business in or near Leesville.

The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Department announced late Thursday night that two suspects involved in the raffle ticket scam and named in arrest warrants were located and taken into custody in Winn Parish. The department said more information will be released on Friday.

Investigators with the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department in Leesville said on Thursday that a woman has been scamming people in multiple Louisiana parishes by selling fake raffle tickets. Now, investigators say they’re sending out a warning to residents of Deep East Texas just in case the woman brings her scam to this area.

Vernon Parish Detective Rhonda Jordan says the woman has entered local businesses with a story about her home burning down on Thanksgiving and her child receiving burn injuries in the blaze.

According to Jordan, the woman has prior arrests for Theft by Fraud for the raffle ticket scam in both Winn and Rapides Parish, and now arrest warrants are being prepared in Vernon Parish for the same crime.

At this point the name of the woman hasn’t been released pending arrest and arraignment.

Jordan said that if the woman approaches you trying to sell raffle tickets, contact the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department at 337-238-1311 or your local law enforcement agency.
