An Onalaska police officer has been arrested after the Texas Rangers say he committed official oppression, and they’re looking for any citizens that may have fallen victim to the alleged crime.
He is 43-year-old Gabriel Phillip Moore, who has reportedly worked at various law enforcement agencies in Chambers, Harris, Montgomery, and Polk Counties over the last 18 years; his most recent job being in Onalaska. The small town is situated along the shore of Lake Livingston on U.S. Highway 190 between Livingston and Huntsville.
Rangers say they began an investigation in May, and Moore was arrested on Thursday afternoon. At last word he remained in the Polk County Jail in Livingston.
Meanwhile, Texas Rangers say they believe Moore committed other alleged acts of official oppression in other areas, and if you had any such experience with him you’re asked to contact Ranger Ryan Clendennen at 936-327-6836.
