Jasper County Deputy Kevin Holloway said on Thursday that a car which was stolen in the Beech Grove Community has been recovered in Orange County. However, Holloway said the suspect, a Beaumont man, is still at-large after fleeing from Orange County deputies on foot.

According to Holloway a 2009 Cadillac CTS was stolen from the Mark Martindale residence on County Road 137 between 7:00 and 8:00 Wednesday morning, and was reported at about 11:00 when it was discovered that the car was gone.

Holloway said the car was equipped with the OnStar system and OnStar employees were able to pinpoint its location in Rose City, which is on Interstate 10 between Beaumont and Vidor.

According to Holloway Orange County deputies knew exactly who the suspect was, and he was already named in arrest warrants for crimes in Jasper County and in the city of Jasper. He now faces new charges both here in Jasper County as well as Orange County.

The name of the man has not been released pending arrest and arraignment.
