Deputies from both the Jasper and Orange County Sheriff’s Departments worked together over the weekend to recover a large amount of stolen property and also to identify the suspects involved.

Sheriff Mitchel Newman says it began on Saturday when Deputy Kasey Ryan responded to a report of a 4-wheeler being found abandoned in the Evadale area. Newman said later that day the owner reported the ATV stolen along with several burglaries in an Evadale hunting club.

According to Newman, a total of four travel trailers had been broken into, and when Deputy Ryan reviewed game camera images she could see the suspects leaving with the 4-wheeler which was pulling a stolen trailer that was carrying other stolen property.

Newman said on Sunday Deputy Ryan and Orange County deputies identified the suspects in the game camera images and they went to their residence. Although the suspects weren’t there, Newman said the stolen property was and it was seized by the deputies. Newman said it included the trailer that was pulled by the 4-wheeler, along with a generator, bags of clothing and hunting apparel, folding chairs, and a pellet rifle.

Meanwhile, it’s expected that warrants will be sought for the suspects.
