As the state of Texas begins to get back to normal with the spread of Coronavirus slowing, restaurants across the state were allowed to hold 50% of their normal capacity as of Friday. That included several Jasper restaurants.

Some of the local eateries had opted to not open and continue only food-to-go after Governor Greg Abbott allowed 25% capacity a few weeks ago.

On Friday, local restaurants such as Cedar Tree, Elijah’s Café, Smitty’s Smokehouse, MVP’s, Chapala, and the Belle Jim were serving happy diners who were enjoying a sit-down meal and being able to relax.

Meanwhile, some restaurants will be opening their dining rooms soon such as Martin’s Mexican Restaurant, which will be hosting patrons on Monday, and Son Asian Bistro, which will welcome back their diners on Tuesday.
