A second student from Stephen F. Austin State University has died following a crash which occurred Friday afternoon in Corrigan.

Micah McAfoose, 18, of Cypress and a former baseball player at SFA, died at the scene while Graylan Spring, 19, of Austin and a current football player at SFA, later died in a Conroe hospital.

The report said that the pair were traveling in a 2007 Nissan Versa when they hit and went under the trailer of an 18-wheeler, driven by Antonio Sandoval, Jr., 68, of Diboll. Corrigan Police say that Sandoval failed to yield right-of-way and pulled the big-rig out in front of the car.

Interim University President Dr. Steve Westbrook ordered the SFA school flag to be flown at half-mast in honor of the students on Monday, and on Monday evening students and staff will gather for a candlelight vigil at 7:30 in the football stadium.

As of Monday, there was no word from law enforcement on any criminal charges against Sandoval.
