Local law enforcement officers are searching for a car that was stolen from a Kirbyville convenience store. According to Police Chief Paul Brister, it happened early Tuesday afternoon at the Valero Convenience Store on Highway 96.

Brister said the owner of the car, Jaylan Brown-Dennis, went into the store to pay for gas and that’s when it was stolen from the gas pumps.

The car is a tan 1999 Ford Crown Victoria with chrome wheels and Texas license plate DW5G453.

Meanwhile, Brister said this is a good opportunity to remind people to never leave your keys in a car. Brister said “Turn it off, take the keys, and lock it up!”

If you have any information about the location of the car, call the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department at 409-384-5417 or any local law enforcement agency. You do not have to give your name.
