Children marveled and adults admired the view on Wednesday evening when the switch was thrown, officially turning on the lights at the Jasper County Courthouse in Downtown Jasper.

The lights were turned on shortly after 6:00 pm following a brief ceremony and a prayer from Father Ron Foshage of St. Michael's Catholic Church following weeks of work by Jasper hamburger entrepreneur Tressie Morgan and her crew from the Jasper Lakes Sam Rayburn Chamber of Commerce.

The lights will remain on through Christmas turning the courthouse lawn into a winter wonderland.
