The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Department says a weekend traffic stop revealed more than 10 pounds of cocaine along with two stolen guns, and resulted in a Houston man going to jail.
Daily News and More in Hemphill is reporting that Nacogdoches County deputies stopped 62-year-old Winston Freeman driving a Nissan SUV shortly before 10:00 Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 59 North. The report said that after deputies noticed Freeman acting very nervous, they first discovered a small amount of crack cocaine and marijuana.
However, the report said deputies soon discovered that the dash of the vehicle had been tampered with, and when they pulled it open they found 10.4 pounds of cocaine and the two weapons, which had been reported as stolen in Houston and Waco.
Freeman has since been charged with 1st degree felony Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 3rd degree felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, state jail felony Theft of a Firearm, class A misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana
At last word Freeman remained in the Nacogdoches County Jail.
