Jasper County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Scotty Duncan said on Tuesday that deputies are very close to making arrests in a double-shooting case.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of Friday, August 9th in the front yard of a home on Farm to Market Road 2800, and the two injured men were identified as William Cobb and Allen Brown, both of Jasper.

Shortly after the incident, Sheriff Mitchel Newman said that the men had apparently shot each other as the result of an altercation or disagreement between the two.

According to Duncan, investigators are seeking arrest warrants, but the identities of those to be named in the warrants have not been released pending their arrest and arraignment.
