A longtime Vidor store was robbed at gunpoint late Thursday night. According to Vidor Police Chief, the crime occurred shortly before 11:00 at The Falls, located in the 1900 block of South Main Street, also known as Highway 105.
Chief Carroll said the clerk was in the process of closing for the night when she was robbed by a tall white male wearing a black hoodie and armed with a dark semiautomatic pistol.
Carroll said the suspect fled on foot and officers used a K-9 to track him down a railroad track, but the dog lost the scent trail where the tracks and a street intersect, meaning he probably got into a vehicle at that spot.
Police say the case remains under investigation.
