The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department, which recently revamped efforts to solve a cold case disappearance from the 1980’s, has asked for any former residents of two trailer parks in the Leesville area to come forward.

Investigators say they would like to talk to anyone who lived in or nearby Mike’s Trailer Park on Highway 10 in 1980, or anyone who lived in Tower Trailer Park on Highway 8 in 1986, especially in October of that year.

The department is asking those who lived in or near the trailer parks to call either Detective Jerry Twyman or Detective Rhonda Jordan at 337-238-7248.

Bambi Luann Brantley was a Memphis, Tennessee native who moved to Leesville in 1986 at the age of 25 and three months later, on the evening of Wednesday, October 22nd, she disappeared without a trace. In fact Bambi was one of five women, all white, all about the same age, all with blond hair, and all of whom disappeared in Leesville between 1980 and 1990. The four other women were all found deceased, but there’s never been any sign of Bambi.

There’s one other common factor, in four of the five cases, including the Bambi Brantley case, investigators say they disappeared from a convenience store.
