The woman involved in a Sunday evening multi-county pursuit that began in Huntington and ended in Newton has now been officially charged. According to the Angelina County Jail, 30-year-old Karianna Gabrielle Nowman is charged with third degree felony evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle.

Huntington Police began chasing the woman in a silver Ford Mustang shortly before 7:00. As she was fleeing, Nowman streamed a Facebook LIVE video of herself and also images of the patrol cars behind her in her mirror.

The pursuit went through Jasper County and finally ended on the Newton County Courthouse Square when Nowman stopped the car, which had flat tires from spike strips.

KJAS News has learned that Nowman was in the news in the spring of 2017 when her young children were taken away from her. KTRE 9 News in Lufkin reported that Nowman and her boyfriend, Russell Wandale Harvey, were charged with child endangerment after their two children, who were ages 5 and 2 at the time, tested positive for methamphetamine in their system.
