18 year old Anthony Palomo of Woodville was pronounced dead at the scene of the two vehicle accident.

An early Tuesday morning accident in Orange County has taken the life of a Tyler County teenager.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Stephanie Davis, Anthony Palomo, 18, of Woodville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. It occurred at about 5:30 on Farm to Market Road 1006, approximately 1 mile east of U.S. Highway 87.

Davis said investigating troopers determined that the Woodville teen was driving a 2005 Honda passenger car westbound on FM 1006 when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of the car and it slid sideways into the path of an eastbound 2000 Ford SUV, which was driven by Dane Yates, 47, of Port Arthur.

Davis said Yates was transported by ambulance to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with serious injuries.
