There was a tense moment for a Jasper man on Wednesday afternoon when a limb apparently fell from a log truck and hit the windshield of the pick up truck he was driving.

Tony Richards of Jasper said he was headed west on Highway 190 in his late model pick up truck when a chunk of wood fell from a log truck and hit the windshield.

Richards said that even though small chips of glass flew from the windshield into his vehicle, he was not hurt.

The incident occurred shortly after 3:00 and units of the East End Fire Department and others were dispatched to the scene when it was reported that a major auto accident had occurred. However, fortunately no firemen or other emergency crews were needed.

At last word, officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety were still investigating the incident.
