Jasper Police Captain Mike Poindexter says a Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper late Thursday afternoon found and recovered a pickup truck that had been reported stolen in Jasper on July 17th.

The vehicle, a 2006 Ford F-150, was located on Farm to Market Road 252 just north of FM 1005 in the Erin Community.

The suspect in the theft, 29-year-old Cierra Westbrook, was arrested a few days after the crime and as of Thursday she remained in the Jasper County Jail under a $12,000.00 bond. She has been charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and burglary of a building.

According to Jasper Police Lieutenant Garrett Foster, the truck was at Advanced Automotive on Highway 96 when Westbrook allegedly went into the business and took the keys off of a pegboard and stole it.

At the time of the alleged crime, Westbrook was out of jail on bond in regard to another vehicle theft. In late April she was arrested for a vehicle theft from a tire shop in the 1800 block of South Wheeler. In that case, she was accused of stealing a 2006 Ford Fusion which was recovered by Jasper Police.
