Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman said Friday that two suspects had been identified and that he and others were searching for two men that were believed to have stolen wire, copper, batteries and other items from an industrial contractor in Evadale.

According to Newman officers have identified Christopher Lackey and Todd Jones of Orange, who they believe broke into the businesses and stole the items some of which they later sold to metal salvage company.

Newman and his deputies believe Lackey and Jones were in a light blue Nissan Hatchback when the crimes were committed and he and others are not only looking for the car but also another suspect who they have not named.

Newman is asking anyone that might have any knowledge about the crimes, or the whereabouts of Lackey and Jones to come forth.
