A late Friday morning accident in Polk County involving a Jasper County truck driver resulted in the deaths of two Houston area women. PolkCountyToday.com is reporting that the crash occurred shortly before 11:00 on U.S. Highway 59 about 7 miles north of Livingston.

According to the report, a late model Mercedes Benz E-350, driven by Brenda Kirkling, 60 of Houston, pulled out of a convenience store parking lot into the path of a southbound 18-wheeler loaded down with lumber, and driven by 44-year-old Jody Jenkins, of Brookeland.

The big-rig, a 2019 Kenworth owned by High Roller Logistics in Center, crashed into the car, resulting in the death of Kirkling and her passenger, Linda Autry, 58, of Missouri City.

Although his truck was heavily damaged, Jenkins was not injured.

The accident was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
