Jasper County Judge Mark Allen said on Monday that the county currently has 26 active cases of Coronavirus, and the trend of new cases continues to weigh heavily on the north end of the county - in fact Jasper has the most active cases now.

That’s in contrast to early on during the pandemic when the Buna area had the highest number of cases.

As of Monday, Judge Allen said there has now been a total of 66 cases, 2 deaths, and 38 recoveries.

Here are the current active cases town-by-town:

Brookeland - 5

Jasper - 14

Kirbyville - 3

Buna - 2

Evadale - 2

Meanwhile, Tyler County Judge Jacques Blanchette said Monday that his county has had a total of 29 cases, 11 are currently active, and 18 have recovered with no deaths.

We were unable to reach officials in Newton or Sabine County for updated numbers.
