PolkCountyToday.com is reporting that a Jasper woman was involved in a Friday evening accident which was reportedly caused by an epileptic seizure in another vehicle. The crash occurred shortly before 8:00 on U.S. Highway 59 in Goodrich.

The report said that Michelle Fancher, 45, of Jasper, was driving northbound in a 2020 Ford Explorer when her SUV was suddenly hit from behind by a 2004 Nissan Z, driven by 20-year-old Caleb Barnes, of Sugarland. Both vehicles went off the highway.

Troopers say that a 17-year-old female passenger in the Nissan experienced a seizure, resulting in her head striking the steering wheel and causing the car to veer into the other lane, striking the Ford SUV.

The report said that the 17-year-old girl was transported by ambulance to an area hospital due to her seizure, and fortunately neither driver suffered any injuries.
