Beech Grove Fire Chief Jamie Gunter reported Saturday that the department had received a parcel of land for the construction of it's new substation and also a sizeable donation to help get the project going.

Gunter said the family of Martin Dies, Jr. recently donated a section of land at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 2799 and County Road 99 for the fire station and that on Saturday another family in the Bevilport Area had made a donation.

According to Gunter, the Seale Family which has long roots to the community dating back to 1845. Gunter said he and others met with William Seale, who donated $10,000 on behalf of the Seale Family, Bevilport Limited Partnership and Lucinda Smith Seale.

Gunter thanked the families for the donation and support to the community and the fire department in which it serves.
