An official with the Bon Wier Water Supply said early Tuesday afternoon that their water supply is reaching a point of being critically low, and they’re urging residents of Bon Wier to turn off their faucets and do not turn them back on until the temperature drops below freezing again.

According to Jim DuBose with Bon Wier Water Supply, he checked the underground storage level and discovered that it is down to only 4 feet deep, and he said that the pumps will automatically shut off when it reaches 2 feet deep.

DuBose said the underground storage only has enough water to last for a few hours under the current demand, and he implored Bon Wier citizens to not only turn off their faucets, but also conserve as much water as possible for the rest of the day to allow the underground storage to recharge.
