Firemen said the truck was headed east when it left the roadway.

As the residents of the Lakes Area brace for a cold, rainy, icy night, auto accidents occur.

The volunteers of the Beech Grove Fire Department and other emergency crews were dispatched to location just west of Farm to Market Road 777, on Highway 190 at Beech Grove shortly before 7:00 when it was reported that a one vehicle auto accident had occurred. Firemen and others arrived to find that a late model pick up truck had ran off the road and into the woods. The driver of the truck which was only identified as a resident of Tyler County was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for what was thought to be only minor injuries.

A few minutes later it was reported that a Ford pick up truck had also left the road and turned over about a mile east of the first accident. Two people in that truck also escaped serious injury.

Even though there was no ice in Jasper, as the accidents occurred west of town, a light slush or slick ice on the roadway.
