Tyler County investigators are again asking for assistance in the recent murder of a Lufkin man. Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford says that despite hundreds of people being present when 32-year-old Jamerion Mitchell was shot and killed, deputies have received very little cooperation and the gunman remains unidentified.
The crime occurred at about two o’clock in the morning on Sunday, March 21st at a trail-ride party on Farm to Market Road 1013 near Spurger. Weatherford said that Mitchell was shot numerous times in the chest and stomach and he died at the scene.
Weatherford says his department and Texas Rangers are asking for anyone who was at the party or on the trail ride that may have any social media information, video recordings, or any photos to contact the Tyler County Sheriff’s Department at 409-283-2172 or the Texas Rangers Jasper office at 409-384-5712. You can also contact Crime Stoppers 936-639-8477 and be eligible for a cash reward. You do not have to give your name.
