A special guest was spotted in the stands at the baseball game in Hudson on Tuesday night. Max Alvis and his wife Honey, who now live in Lufkin, were there to not only watch the Bulldogs but also visit with the folks from Jasper.
Alvis, who is a former Bulldog and graduate of the Jasper High School Class of 1956, went on to graduate from the University of Texas, later played for the Cleveland Indians.
After working at the First National Bank of Jasper for over 45 years, retired as president of the lending institution a few years ago.
