Jasper County Chief Deputy Glenn Blank says a toddler in the Buna area was severely burned in an Independence Day fireworks incident.

According to Blank, the 2-year-old boy suffered severe burns to his back, arms, and stomach. However, there’s no word on exactly where or how it happened.

Blank said Jasper County deputies shut down Highway 96 in Buna in order for a Hermann Hospital LifeFlight helicopter to land, and the child was then flown to Galveston.
