Two people were injured in a two vehicle auto accident that occurred shortly after 6:00 on Thursday evening on Highway 190 just west of the intersection of Highway 96.

How the accident occurred was not clear and is still under investigation, but it appeared that the crash took place when a 2000 Dodge van, which was westbound collided with an eastbound 1989 Chevrolet pick up truck.

Jasper Police and Fire responded to the crash and assisted in helping the occupants of the van to get out of the vehicle after the doors apparently jammed.

The driver of the truck was not injured. However, two of the passengers of the van were injured.

The accident occurred during heavy traffic as people headed home from work.

No names are available at this time pending completion of a police report which is being filed by officer Jimmy Neal and Tyler Lendo of the Jasper Police Department.
