A man who Jasper Police have dealt with in the past for criminal activity has been arrested again, this time for trespassing and theft.
A report filed by Sergeant Jimmy Neel said that he responded to 522 Burch Street on Wednesday after Ernestina Mijares reported a man trespassing at a house that she owns.
Neel’s report said he discovered the suspect nearby, and in the back of his pickup truck he noticed a set of new vehicle ramps.
The report went on to say that officers spoke to management at Harbor Freight on Highway 190 East and they determined that the ramps, valued at $1,229.00, had indeed been stolen from their store.
The suspect, 37-year-old Rodger Stratton, was arrested and later appeared before Municipal Judge Robert Jackson. He was charged with theft of property and trespassing and his bond was set at a combined total of $8,000.00, and he has since been transferred to the Jasper County Jail.
