The Texas Department of Public Safety says two people were killed in wreck involving a motorcycle over the weekend in nearby Orange County.

A report issued on Sunday said Tony Stanley, 48, of Spurger and 40-year-old Angie Stanley of Lumberton were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that occurred on Saturday at the intersection of FM 105 and Lakeview Cutoff.

The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates the driver of a 2002 Honda motorcycle was traveling southbound on FM 105. The driver of a 2012 Toyota SUV was traveling northbound on FM 105 and stopped to make a left turn onto Lakeview Cutoff. The driver of the SUV failed to yield the right of way and turned into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with the Toyota causing the motorcycle driver to be trapped under the SUV and the passenger to be thrown off the motorcycle.

The driver of the Toyota, a 75-year-old Vidor resident, and her passenger were both transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
