If you have an outstanding warrant or unpaid fine at the Jasper Municipal Court, you might want to brace yourself for an arrest.

Jasper Police Chief Gerald Hall said Wednesday that a roundup would soon begin as officers go down the list and bring those named in warrants before Municipal Judge Robert Jackson.

According to Hall, the roundup will begin on February 1st as officers seek those accused of various crimes, including failure to appear in court in response to those citations.

Hall said, “It’s not our goal to embarrass anyone. However, we will be serving warrants on those named at home, work or anywhere they are found.” Hall went on to say, “ we are giving everyone a chance to take of business before the roundup begins to avoid embarrassment and inconvenience.”

Hall said anyone wanting to know the status of a warrant or fine should contact the Jasper Municipal Court as soon as possible.
