Jasper High School Baseball Coach Stephen Westbrook has announced a unique baseball camp for young players which will not only assist them with their skills, but it will also help less-fortunate youth in our area.

Coach Westbrook says a Baseball Christmas Camp will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Jasper Baseball Diamond, and is open for all local youth from kindergarten through 12th grade.

According to Westbrook, organizers ask each player to come to the camp with a new, still in the package, non-violent toy for either a girl or boy. The toys will then be wrapped by the members of the Crimson Dazzlers Precision Dance Team, and then will be donated to the Jasper Police Department Toys for Tots Program.

Westbrook said each player needs to bring their own glove and bat, and also a pair of tennis shoes in case the camp needs to be moved indoors due to weather.

Once underway, the players will learn skills from area coaches, along with collegiate and professional players.
