Members of the W5JAS Lakes Area Amateur Radio Club have invited the public to observe them as they participate in the National Amateur Radio Field Day Exercise, slated to take place on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd. Organizers say they will be set up at the Jasper Boy Scout Hut, located on Second Street across from Jasper Junior High School.

According to organizers, ham radio operators since 1933 across North America have established temporary ham radio stations in public locations during Field Day to showcase the science and skill of Amateur Radio.

Local radio operators say the public, especially those who are interested in amateur radio, are invited and encouraged to stop between 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m. on either day, and to sign the guest log.
