An upcoming fundraiser for the Jasper Public Library will feature both an international flair, along with classic American children’s literature.
Jasper resident and native of India, Krisha Rath, will be performing ancient Indian classical dances, and employees of the library will be performing two plays for children durng the event, known as “Leaping for the Library”.
Indian culture dates back thousands of years, and dance and music has always been a major part of India’s traditions and fine arts. Krisha will be sharing a part of that unique and historic culture.
Additionally, the library staff will be performing the classic American children’s books “Green Eggs and Ham” from 1960, by Dr. Seuss, and also “More Spaghetti, I Say” from 1977, by Mort Gerberg and Rita Golden Gelman.
The event will be Saturday, August 17th in the Family Healthcare Banquet Hall, located at 1905 North Margaret Avenue (Highway 96) in Kirbyville.
