The Jasper Fire Department was requested to assist with an aerial rescue in Sabine County late Thursday afternoon. It happened shortly after 4:00 at the Georgia Pacific Mill in Pineland.
Reportedly, a worker became stuck in some type of apparatus about 90 feet in the air, and although he was not reported to be in any physical distress, he had been in that position for nearly two hours with no way to get down.
The Jasper Fire Department responded with their ladder truck, ‘Tower 1’, a 35-ton fire truck that has been used over the last dozen years in a few aerial rescues and several fires.
KJAS News has a photographer going to the scene and we will continue to monitor the situation and update this story when new information becomes available.
