A multi-vehicle accident over the weekend in northeast Tyler County resulted in a truck towing a horse trailer crashing into the wall of a convenience store. Emergency crews were sent to the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 at State Highway 92, just west of Dam B, at about 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
According to Sergeant Stephanie Davis of the Texas Department of Public Safety, investigating troopers determined that a 2012 GMC pickup truck, towing a horse trailer, was eastbound on Highway 190, while a Hyundai passenger vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 190. Davis said the driver of the Hyundai failed to yield the right of way and tried to turn onto Highway 92 in the path of the GMC pickup truck, resulting in the vehicles colliding.
Davis said the GMC pickup truck then went onto the parking lot of the Exxon Dam B Jiffy Mart where it struck a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a Ford pickup truck before crashing into the wall of the store.
