Celebrations were held in Jasper, Newton and Kirbyville on Saturday as local residents rang in the Christmas season.
Here in Jasper, possibly the largest firework show ever was held at 6:00 pm at Sandy Creek Park as part of the City of Jasper’s 2nd Annual Christmas in the Park.
The fireworks display came following a round of rhythm and blues by Professor Pork Chop and the Dirty Dishes of Shreveport, and others who performed LIVE on stage during the day.
Following the fireworks show, the City of Jasper’s Electrical Department closed the switches, officially lighting the park for the holiday season.
The lights will remain on and music will play each night through the Christmas holidays, creating a winter wonderland for all to see.
The children’s Christmas train will also run each Friday and Saturday through Christmas, between the hours of 5:00 and 9:00 p.m.
