The search for a missing man from nearby San Augustine County has entered its second week. 53-year-old Allen Ray McKinney was last seen on Friday, February 21st when he left his mother’s home in San Augustine.

KJAS News spoke to his mother, Thelma McKinney on Tuesday. Mrs. McKinney said her son lived with her, and he told her that he was going to visit a friend, and he would be back the following day.

However, Mrs. McKinney said he never returned, and calls to his cell phone went straight to voicemail.

Mrs. McKinney said to her knowledge her son didn’t have a drug problem, but she said he sometimes had issues with depression.

Allen Ray McKinney is 5’11” and weighs about 230 pounds, with grey hair and blue eyes. He was last seen driving a green 1999 Ford Explorer with Texas license plate CRG0751.

On Tuesday, the San Augustine County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that McKinney is still listed as a missing person, and if you have any information about him, or his vehicle, you’re asked to contact them at 936-275-2424, or your local law enforcement agency.
