The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas has announced that President Donald J. Trump plans to nominate current Grayson County District Attorney Joseph “Joe” D. Brown to serve as U.S. Attorney.

That position is currently held on an interim basis by Brit Featherston, who stepped into the role following the September retirement of Malcom Bales.

Brown has served as Grayson County District Attorney for the past 17 years. He was also an associate attorney with Cowles & Thompson P.C. from 1995 to 1999, and he also served on the state board of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department from 2009 to 2014.

Brown received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in 1995, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law.
