One of the few remaining airworthy World War II B-17 bombers will be at the 13th Annual Jasper Air Show & Fly In, which will be held on Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th at the Jasper County Bell Field Airport on Highway 190 West in Jasper.

The old warbird, which is now considered a “flying museum”, was obtained and restored by the Texas based Commemorative Air Force in 1967, and she has made appearances and flight demonstrations at air shows across the country since that time.

Texas Raiders is one of only about a dozen airworthy B-17’s left in the world.

In addition to seeing her fly and feeling the vibration in your chest when her four big radial engines are fired up, air show visitors can also walk around and inside the plane during the static display portion of the show during the morning hours.

Additionally, air show visitors can actually take a flight in the World War II bomber for a $475.00 contribution to the Commemorative Air Force. Call Air Show Director Debbie Foster for details at 409-384-2626.

The B-17 Texas Raiders and numerous other aircraft and aviation related vendors and displays, along with plenty of food and drink options can be enjoyed at the 13th Annual Jasper Air Show, Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th at the Jasper County Bell Field Airport on Highway 190 West in Jasper.
